Few snapshots of brutality over Adivasi on 27th Nov at Guwahati

There are many barbaric incidents occured on that day at Guwahati, how ever these are few snapshots taken by different reporters.
After beaten up by the local people, these people had their last breath.

Here Police, who are supposed to save people, are also involved in pouring their inherited anger.

Now he is being escaped from the local people, but his body is waiting for four shoulders only.

Adivasi are waiting to be treated inside the hospital, but doctors denied to treat. Later on those doctors were suspended.

Two adivasi are being trapped between 30-40 local people. India ruled under British was better.

Adivasi woman dragged by a local guy as if a dog drags dead calf for its food.

Adivasi lady stripped and chased by local people. We call it Free India.

Heart shatters seeing the snaps, what adivasis went through the Black Day can't be imagined. with bodies lying like log and women brutally molested, is this the democratic country we are proud of? Now we can only expect the worst. why none of the localites were killed when it is said that Adivasis were the one who started. Local police and administration shoud be hanged to death for the havoc.

Its really disheartening and am really filled with indignation to know how the Adivasis were beaten up by the locals of Guwahati mercilessly not even sparing the women folk.We say ours is a democratic country, but is it really so? Is this what happens when we stand up and speak for our rights and demand equality? Why did it happen that the voice of Adivasis were suppressed and publicised in a wrong way? If the women of India are still not safe and if one can't speak for one's rights, then I think there is no point in celebrating 60 years of Independence. All the locals should have been grabbed by the local police but its a pity that they were equally an accomplice to the havoc caused and should be severely punished and taught a lesson so that never ever anybody even thinks of harming the innocent.

The 27th Nov. 2007 in Guwahati event was a black trgedy of assam, like black hall killed during british time. It's like a new concentration camp in democracy India. In democracy it should not be happened. If the people has no right to live peacefully, every citizen has right to demand it. So, there is no meaning of fighting with particular tribe and community, fight should be with govt. so the act of inhuman means unacceptable in any sense.

words hardly form when one witnesses these moments of extreme brutality by seemingly normal people of assam. if this is not evidence that we are at the peak of kalyug then what is?

even today seeing these images make me vomit in disgust. what i have understood from freedom in India is Total freedom to do anything - loot, cheat, rape, kill... but don't ask any questions...!!!

Hey. I saw the photo. It is so gory that it becomes difficult to imagine that human beings can do it. What has happened to Assam and so-called indigenous assamesse and bodo people? Are they human beings? At times, they kill Biharis, then they kill and loot marwaris, then they would lay their hands on bengali hindus. Now they are killing bengali muslims. It seems they don't want to leave peacefully with others. For them, no one can live in Assam except them. It is height of tyranny and ethnic jingoism, Assam is a rotten place.

I admire your efforts in bringing out to the people of the world thru your blog the shoddy treatment of adivasis of India in India. Its really shocking and heart rending. Brings tears to my eyes. Is this the free India that I am living in?
Is this really the 21st century India?
Its a huge shame on administration and the management of state of affairs.
Will we ever realise the importance of treating humans like humans?

Being a NRI and living in United States I always had a proud feeling about India, but not any more. India is the worst place to live I think after seeing this pictures and some videos of this brutality. I am ashamed of calling myself a Indian just because of few hate mongers living out there.

If I had authority then I would had cut off and thrown Assam from the map of India. Plus deleted it from the list of tourist places of India.
These Assamese are not fit to be called Indians. They have spoilt our nation's image infront of the whole world. The government including police and local non-adivasis are not even fit to be called as animals. I always wanted to visit Assam, but I would never ever go there and suggest others the same. Today I have no more hopes from Indian Government.

dats partial story...all dis started with the vandalism of buildings, cars etc by the adivasis...i suppose it were they who insisted people to beat them by there acts...and dont blame assam on behalf of incident in a small place..assam is not that small...and v live peacefully and also let others live ...u see only 50% of assam speak assamese. and @salim..biharis started their end when they raped a northeast girl in train comin to asam. and i suppose ulfa killed the biharis..and u know biharis were also beaten up in maharastra.wat u say abt that...and no civilian assamese ever have killed a marwari or looted him publically...who told u all this ??
@smita...mam..u must mind ur words when addressing a state...so plz ....instead u can throw out those who create nuisance in society..assam is a state aint an individual..
so folks plz dont throw any rubbish comments jst coz its free...wat happend dat day was really a uncivilized thing...but it was done by some 100 individuals who lost their properties and a few hundreds watched it...shame on them..but few helped them(adivasis) too....its a brave thing to go against the mob and help the adivasis but some did..
i am an assamese and condemn the incident but assam is nice and strong and an imp part of india with the one horned rhinos and 25% of petroleum ...jai aai assam..jai hind
